Personal Credit Cards
Personal Credit Cards -- you may be thinking one card is just like the next. Sure there are similarities, but just like with anything else there are tradeoffs and you will come out way ahead if you shop around and find the one that most suits you and the way you will use your card.Once upon a time, you only saw ads for personal credit cards...but they were just called credit cards. The notion of personal vs. business credit cards is a recent change in the industry. We've got another whole page where we tell you more about the business cards, but this page is all about personal credit cards.
A personal credit card is just an ordinary card, and it can include many of the other categories of cards such as "low rate" or "miles cards". It's merely the fact that it doesn't have any of the alleged advantages of a business card that makes it a personal credit card. It's made out to you "Joe Q. Public".
The other kind is made out to you in the sense that you are still responsible for it, and it's still attached to your personal Social Security Number. The difference is that it also typically lists the name of your "business". This can provide an air of clout, and often the credit limit for business cards is higher than for a personal credit card.
Compare the interest rates and other features of personal credit cards to some of the other choices you'll find on this site. For some people a simple personal credit card will turn out to be the best choice.
