Business Credit Cards
Business credit cards are all the rage right now. Several of the major banks have started marketing these more heavily lately. The primary target of this marketing is the "extremely small business" owner, often a home based business owner looking to better separate the expenses of their business from their personal expenses. For reasons known only to the bank's underwriters, these cards often enjoy lower fees and lower interest rates than their run of the mill personal credit cards. Perhaps the somewhat ephemeral notion that the card is "backed by a business" allows the underwriters some leaway. Perhaps they have done some sort of actuarial work that suggests that people who start a small business are less likely to default on a credit card.
Whatever the reason, without much difficulty you can convince the many companies that offer these better credit cards that your basement business is worthy of one or more business credit cards.
As with other sources of credit, there is a significant amount of difference between the best and the worst when it comes to business credit cards. We encourage you to shop around and do your homework before you pick one.
You might also want to compare business credit cards with cash back cards as part of that homework.
